First triathlon for Aimee on the Raleigh Aura

Our friends at Future Publishing in Bath recently used our Raleigh Airlite Aura bike in the Wiltshire Times Trowbridge Triathlon.

This was Marketing Manager Aimee Hopkins’ first triathlon and she used it to put our aluminium-framed, carbon-forked Aura bike through its paces in her first the . Here’s what she had to say:

“I recently entered my first sprint triathlon, the Wiltshire Times Trowbridge Triathlon, and was lucky enough to be loaned a Raleigh Airlite Aura for the 26k bike section of the race.

I was a complete novice to Triathlon and particularly road cycling so was slightly nervous about how I would get on! I didn’t have a great deal of time to test-ride the bike prior to the race, but this didn’t prove to be an issue at all. The frame was the perfect size and very comfortable and found gears easy to use. I averaged 16mph during my bike section on a mixed route down the A36 and through the local villages of Southwick, North Bradley and Dilton Marsh, and found using the Aura very natural.

I am now looking forward to racing around the streets of London on my next triathlon challenge – The Virgin Active London Triathlon!”

The 2012 Raleigh Aura is currently only available from Raleigh UK in a 43cm (16.9″) frame size. The bike retails at £650. With its compact chain set and semi-compact frame, it’s the perfect bike for women looking to get into road bike riding.
