If you have a taste for tweed and a passion for pedaling then you might be interested in this most stylish of bike rides, celebrating the style, heritage and culture of cycling in Raleigh’s home city.
Raleigh is one of several big name sponsors behind the event, which takes place on Sunday 23rd September.
The ride starts at the War Memorial on Trent Embankment, Nottingham and covers a gentle 15 mile route covering local historical points of interest.
Riders are asked to wear their own version of style (strictly no visible lycra or high-vis!) for this leisurely paced bicycle ride.
Participants can win prizes donated by Raleigh and other sponsors for best dress/costume, best bicycles and most accomplished cycling ability.
As Nottingham has been the home of Raleigh for 125 years, many vintage Raleigh bicycles are expected to be on display.
If you have a Raleigh bike (like the sadly departed Mr Reg Harris, pictured right), bring it along and we’ll feature you in our Facebook image gallery of vintage Raleigh bikes.
To register your interest in the ride, email dr_jools@hotmail.com or join the Facebook group ‘Nottingham Classic Ride‘.
