Read about Raleigh in May’s Cycling Plus

If you’re keen to find out more about Raleigh Bikes you’ll definitely want to buy the latest copy of Cycling Plus – there’s 10 pages of editorial devoted to us!

The main feature is a six-page article written by author and TV presenter Rob Penn. Earlier this year Rob came to Raleigh UK’s base in Nottingham to find out more about our 125 years of designing bikes.

The article takes a look back at some of the notable points in our timeline – such as Reg Harris winning the world sprint title on a Raleigh in the 1950s, our development of iconic kids bikes in the 70s or Joop Zoetemelk winning the Tour de France on a Raleigh in the 80s – and features interviews with several company directors about where the company is heading these days.

Elsewhere in the magazine you’ll find a review of our flagship race bike the Raleigh SP Team, as ridden by Team Raleigh-GAC this season. It’s a bike that is “fast, really fast” and “wants to gallop with every pedal revolution”.

The review is summed up by the final paragraph: “If you value bang for your buck and want a bike that’s hard to fault and has designs on the Pro Tour, ride this Raleigh,” giving it 4.5 out of 5. Definitely a bike worth asking your local Raleigh dealer about.

The final pages of editorial centre on top riding tips from Team Raleigh-GAC pro Simon Holt in a feature sponsored by Skoda.

So that’s at least 10 reasons to buy this month’s mag but wait, there’s more! Look really close you’ll also see Raleigh featuring in ads for MOA clothing, Motorex lubes and RSP components. Each of these ads features a competition giving you the chance to win exclusive Raleigh products.

This website is great as it tells me a bit more information about my 1979 Raleigh Winner road bike
